Subject: Disappointment in products from Charleston MA location

Good afternoon,
I just want to start this by saying the staff at MAPS is great, I had a fantastic time, and the hair and makeup artists are so talented, but I am extremely displeased with my products. After learning more about the industry and what I need to submit, a good portion of the services are unusable!
- My Z card was given to me with incorrect information. I was able to get my height updated to the correct height. But being new to the industry, I had no clue the low hip was a standard measurement. I have been submitting this Zcard and it's extremely embarrassing to know that I gave industry professionals the wrong information!
The week after I updated this information on my end is when I actually got signed by an agency. This was a huge blow in the face as i have been applying for over 2 months I got into contact with one of the scouts via Kayvar, and she was kind enough to tell me directly my Zcard and digitals were not good.
- My digitals have me smiling in my headshot, and I have been asked to resubmit. I have been asked to retake digital numerous times. I can't do anything with the smiling or even the digitals, the lighting is also extremely harsh.
- There's multiple Photoshop errors to edit out my lazy eye. I really would've just preferred a better direction to avoid this unnecessary photoshop.
- This is a wardrobe error on my end, but paying for such an expensive service, I would've expected any loose strings to be photoshopped out.
- The mentorship honestly wasn't helpful. I got all this information with one Google search and had been doing it. For a product being advertised, I would've expected better industry knowledge. I ended up contacting one of the scouts who reviewed me to ask to grab coffee to learn about the industry, which is where I got helpful regional-specific advice, not just a few-page summary.
I would like to see if I can get a price adjustment done so I can go to a different studio to retake my digitals or find some way to sort this out. Because for a service I am paying thousands for, these are mistakes I was paying to avoid, these are honestly novice mistakes.
Thanks for your attention to the issue,
Sierra Dearns

Good afternoon Sierra
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
We’re sorry to hear that you are displeased with aspects of your materials, as our goal is always to deliver high-quality assets that meet professional industry standards and support our clients’ success.
The images and materials produced by our team are created in collaboration with experienced photographers, stylists, and editors who specialize in the modeling industry. Every element of the shoot, including lighting, angles, makeup, wardrobe, and posing, is carefully planned and executed to complement each client’s unique features while aligning with established industry standards. These same standards are also applied when creating professional websites and Z-cards to ensure consistency across all submissions.
Regarding the measurements on your Z-card, we sincerely apologize for any errors. Our production team is required to utilize the measurements saved on file at the time of production. In your case, the measurements on record were: Waist 27, Hips 30, Chest 35. It is standard procedure for measurements to be taken at the studio. If any information is incorrect, we take full responsibility and, as stated in the signed contract, materials are edited or replaced immediately upon request once discrepancies are brought to our attention.
We would also like to clarify that within the WeTransfer link provided, there is a separate folder titled “Digitals.” This folder includes six images specifically intended for submissions, including two headshots where you are not smiling. These images can be resized to meet agency or platform submission requirements.
We’re glad to hear that you have been signed by an agency, congratulations on this accomplishment. When convenient, please feel free to share the agency name with us. Additionally, we’d like to clarify that Kayvar is a platform designed to facilitate industry connections and visibility; it does not operate as an agency itself.
Our materials, tools, and resources, including the model guide and mentorship—have successfully assisted many models in securing agency representation. Mentorship calls are carefully executed to address each model’s journey individually and provide foundational industry guidance.
All materials included in your package, along with the scheduled mentorship conference call, have been delivered as agreed. For this reason, we are unable to modify or adjust the package price. That said, if there are specific aspects of the images you are unhappy with, we welcome your feedback so we can better understand your concerns.
We’d also like to clarify that we do not utilize Photoshop in a way that alters natural features. Any adjustments performed are professional retouching only, in accordance with industry standards.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like to discuss this further. We remain committed to ensuring you feel supported throughout your experience with the Studio.
Kind Regards,
Grecia
