Good Afternoon, Emirtee,
I hope this email finds you well.
The conference call will be a 30 minute phone call. Your mentor will be reaching out to you via phone on your scheduled date and time. No link for Google meet, Zoom, etc. is required for this meeting.
Below you will see the information on your first steps into the modeling industry. It will provide you all the necessary stepping stones and resources in order to prepare you for this journey and the conference call.
You must read this email thoroughly before the meeting so we can make the most of the call by answering questions and clarifying information. If you are unable to do so, we will have to reschedule the call to ensure you are getting the most out of it and we have a limited amount of reschedules allowed so please keep that in mind.
1. YOUR PROFESSIONAL WEBSITE (http://yourfullname.modelingfolio.com)
Username: personal email address
Password: a1234567 (all lowercase)
2. Z CARD: The Z card is a model's calling card. It is a standard industry tool used by professionals to show seriousness and to showcase pictures and measurements.
The Production department has already created your personal digital Z card. The files were emailed to you from our production department along with your website link. Download the Z Card to your computer. You will be using the front and back of the digital Z Card to upload to a document and create a resume. The Z Card can be printed as well. Always have a few copies of your Z Card printed and ready to leave with industry professionals when attending interviews, casting calls, or working as a model.
3. WEB READY FOLDER: Become familiar with your Images and the Talent Guide that was sent to you in a We Transfer link. If you haven't seen these items, search your email using the keywords “Production” or "We Transfer."
Download the We Transfer link. Take note of the location in your computer that it downloads to. The folder will have a zipper on the front. Right click on the folder and extract all. The images and the Talent Guide will all be in a new folder in the location they are saved to.
Important. You have images saved as "web" or "web ready" and they have resized to be used online when applying to modeling agencies. You will need them to use these images labeled ".web" in order to effectively apply to agencies and/or to create profiles on casting websites. The other images labeled "Selection," are large file sizes for printing. They will not upload to the modeling agency websites.
4. COVER LETTER: Your cover letter is a brief introduction and should only be one paragraph. In your paragraph you're going to state why you would want to work with that company or why you would like to model. Moving forward into the paragraph you would state your talent, skills, or anything interesting about yourself. Make sure to thank the reader for taking the time to review your resume.
5. RESUME OUTLINE: A "Visual Resume" for modeling should be no longer than one page and include the pictures from the front and back of your Zcard. Sometimes it is used to apply and it is a great strategy to follow up with a cover letter and resume to any agency applied to.
Remember, you now have in-studio and on location modeling experience. See sample model cover letter and model resume attached to this email.
Below, there are instructions for adding the front and back sides of the Zcard.jpg. The examples are attached to the bottom of this email. You can use these samples to get started but make sure to add your own style and make it sound like you.
Go to canva.com and select a template. Here’s a beginner’s guide to Canva: https://www.canva.com/learn/how-to-canva-beginners-guide
Insert the front and back of your digital z-card jpg. (You already downloaded this to your computer, just attach it) https://scribehow.com/shared/Adding_Z_Card_To_Resume_In_Canva__dsT9ALKUR4qRBAYEXgTsng
Add your modeling experiences to the same document as the Z-card images. You now have in-studio and on location experience with us. List skills and hobbies related to the field of modeling. (see samples attached)
You can add experiences as you gain more
Be sure to format this document into a PDF form to attach to applications.
The cover letter is one page
The resume is one page, separate from the cover letter
Please see resume and cover letter samples attached to the bottom of this email.
Now that you have the tools to begin applying, it is time to learn about the different types of modeling!
6. INDEPENDENT MODELING: Independent modeling is when models work for themselves as freelancers and they are responsible for finding all their own jobs, but they get to keep all of the money earned.
You should take jobs that are a minimum of 2 hours in one day; maximum 8 hours, nothing more than 10. You can always discuss with the client/company the amount of time you will be working and split in a couple of days if necessary. As an independent model we suggest you charge $100 to $150 an hour for your modeling services. Always refer back to the job description to make this decision and price yourself wisely so you don’t miss any opportunities.
CASTING WEBSITES Oftentimes models find freelance and independent opportunities through casting websites.
These are not agencies.
Hundreds of job postings and casting calls are posted by directors and producers who are looking to cast talent for their productions. Casting websites are subscription based, reliable sources that will give you a list of jobs to look through and apply to.
We recommend you select only one or two of these casting websites:

https://castingfrontier.com/
https://www.buildcasting.com/
https://www.backstage.com/
https://www.mandy.com/
(TX) https://www.katzkasting.com/blog
(Boston) https://www.slatecasting.com/
https://www.centralcasting.com/ga/ (New York/ Georgia/ Louisiana/ CA) (FREE)
https://www.4starcasting.com/ (Chicago/ TX/ GA/ Maryland/ CA) (FREE)

MODEL SEARCH / CASTING CALLS: When you're looking for opportunities online, make sure to use keywords so you can filter through all the information and get the results you want. You will be searching for and attending Casting Calls or Auditions to put yourself right in front of industry professionals, show them your confidence, your walk, and most importantly, make a lasting impression! Model Search Examples:
Open auditions for male/female/classic models for catalogs in Miami, Orlando, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, NY, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago
Open casting calls for male/female/classic models for fashion shows in Miami, Orlando, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, NY, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago
Searching the 3 major cities that are close to where you live will make it easier to attend.
7. AGENCY MODELS: Models who sign with an agency are represented by that agency that will help the model find work. The standard commission taken by an agency is between 15 and 20 percent. These modeling agencies were hand picked for you. Once you have completed your first conference call, go ahead and start applying to these agencies and the agencies in the Talent Guide.
RECOMMENDED AGENCIES:
Exxcel Model & Talent https://www.exxcelmodel.com/home
BMG Talent Orlando/Miami https://bmgtalent.com/
Benz Model & Talent Agency https://benztalent.com/
Make sure to follow up on your applications by emailing the agencies 2 to 3 weeks after you have applied. Attach your cover letter and resume to the follow up email. There are additional modeling agency website links in the back of the Model Talent Guide. Take a look at the websites, fill out the submission form to any additional agencies as well!
Tips for Applying to the agencies: Most agencies have their submission forms (applications) on their websites, search in the menu for links that say ‘Get Discovered’, ‘Apply’, ‘Become a Model’, etc. Make sure to read their instructions beforehand so you can have all the information they require, plus the materials they want before you start applying. It shouldn't take you more than 5-10 minutes for each agency. Make sure to keep track of your applications and always research the agency or client before applying and double check information before sharing your personal information with anyone
Submitting correctly with the most natural photos is the proper way to apply
Professional model scouts are looking for something different than you might expect. They don't want to see you in your fanciest outfit with lots of makeup on. They are looking for you at your most natural.
Have a clean face with light or no makeup. (look 1 from your photoshoot)
Pull your hair back or make sure your whole face is exposed and you are looking directly at the camera.
Wear a form fitting outfit. They need to see the shape of your body.
Look #1 from your photoshoot is a clean "blank canvas" standard look to apply with.
Always submit a headshot, full length shot and a third image if required.
Read the requirements and submit only what is asked for. If they ask for 3 images, submit a headshot, full length shot and a third image waist up or view from the side. Use your "web ready" images.
We suggest sending an email with the cover letter and resume attached, 2 to 3 weeks after submitting. Following up is a professional way to showcase your different looks to the agency. This strategy is sure to impress, proves you are serious about modeling and shows a level of professionalism that will set you apart from everyone else.
Important! Follow every agency applied to on Instagram (tips for creating a successful model Instagram will follow the conference call)
These are the stepping stones to start your journey into modeling and on the call we will be discussing so many more important aspects of the modeling industry to further guide you. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I look forward to speaking with you!
Please see the cover letter and resume samples attached and have this email open and ready for the conference call.

CC - went well a little crazy in the beginning because she thought she lost her pictures, so I told her to reach out to production. We went over everything and she loved all the information. - IS
